Make your own
It really is easy to make your own touch screen jukebox. You can use your own existing windows PC (or mac using windows vmware). All you really need is software and a method of interacting… a touch screen monitor, touch screen adaptor or a mouse!
- Get an old PC or laptop. I’d recommend anything with more than 1Ghz processor and at least 512Mb ram. I used an old 750mhz processor with 512mb ram and it worked OK, but often when browsing through cover art the system would hang.
- Select some software (see my recommendations) or check out this wiki page which has a pretty good overview of all PC jukebox software
- It’s not essential that you use a touch screen for the jukebox, but it sure is nice! I picked one up from ebay for around £100. You can get adaptors for a regular screen, but they are not always that accurate. Again, check out ebay for the best offers. Most screen adaptors I’ve seen run at almost £160 on Amazon.
- Have a party and enjoy!!

what about using an ipad and streaming all music from a nas server? Just an idea.

I actually got a NAS drive which serves my music … but it’s not ideal. I will (one day) get an iPad and that will be the jukebox!

Excellent application & good, simple interface but on my system it doesn’t sort alphabetically – am I doing something wrong ?
Fresh XP install & fresh ITunes install so should be ok.
Any ideas ?

I have built my own custom touch screen jukebox and I tell you it is way better than any ipad solution. The ability to customise it as I need and the larger screen are all bonuses.
